I'm a recognized and award-winning national subject matter expert in criminal justice reform and sexual violence prevention. I worked for 10 years with the USDOJ as a partner in correctional and law enforcement reforms focused on sexual safety in confinement and detention. I have extensive experience working with LGBTQIA+ persons, youth, elderly, racialized, and other populations, and conducting trauma-informed needs assessments for operations in secure and non-secure settings. I leverage this experience both as a consultant and as a writer and publisher of justice-focused narratives.
Justice, health, equity, and impact happen when high-quality strategy meets right action. By aligning policy, procedures, and operations with principles of equity and accountability, I help public and private justice, health, and safety organizations ensure they are delivering effective, intelligent, compliant services to their constituencies, and driving forward meaningful change that produces just results: fairer systems, more effective practices, and measurable impacts.
This is a partial list of my tech writing clients and partners. This work has spanned diverse materials, from data governance to research reporting, training curricula to user manuals, speeches to press releases, legislative drafting to interpretive guidance, official correspondence to organizational policies and procedures, and more.
For nearly a decade, I led the development of the audit function for the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act. The work included an extensive amount of technical writing (legal, regulatory, policy) and training various audiences on the final content, including an audit manual, contracting requirements, interpretive guidance, and more. This video shows a training for auditors, clarifying the reporting process, a new probationary certification initiative, and the importance of independent, objective auditing for ensuring sexual safety in confinement.
