Justice, health, equity, and impact happen when high-quality strategy meets right action. By aligning policy, procedures, and operations with principles of equity and accountability, I help public and private justice, health, and safety organizations ensure they are delivering effective, intelligent, compliant services to their constituencies, and driving forward meaningful change that produces just results: fairer systems, more effective practices, and measurable impacts.

Amy* approached me to turn their deeply personal journey through gender transition into a powerful, resonant memoir. They had the raw materials—journals, letters, texts, medical records, vivid memories—but struggled to find the right words to tell their story. Over several months, we worked closely, diving deep into their experiences, emotions, and lessons learned. Together, we crafted a powerful narrative. We nailed Amy’s radical, powerful voice. We brought their struggles, doubts, triumphs to life in a way that inspires readers. Her memoir connects people to a truth that is still in desperate need of telling: You don't know me til you've walked with me. Before you judge me, hear my story. Amy’s memoir is a gem of storytelling that reflects their resilience, courage, and the strength of the human spirit.

For nearly a decade, I led the development of the audit function for the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act. The work included an extensive amount of technical writing (legal, regulatory, policy) and training various audiences on the final content, including an audit manual, contracting requirements, interpretive guidance, and more. This video shows a training for auditors, clarifying the reporting process, a new probationary certification initiative, and the importance of independent, objective auditing for ensuring sexual safety in confinement.
